A Picture Spoke...

Whoever said that a picture speaks a thousand words must have been drunk. A string of words stretched to eternity can't really define the limitlessness of a picture. A simple picture yet deceptive. Here I dare to capture this picture in impoverished words - that you might wonder why did I even try. This picture spoke to me in a language only my eyes can understand and I feel no shame in admitting that my mind still can't comprehend what this picture was trying to tell me...and yet I dared...

Where I see the invading darkness,
I also see a reticent hue,
Of Indigo or is it blue?
Where I see silhouettes shiver,
At the thought of an embarking cold winter night,
I also see a warm blanket of peace,
Cajoling me to let go of a mountain of grief or fear,
Or perhaps shed another worthless tear,
Where I see desolate looming shadows,
I also see a tree of hope,
Spread its arms so wide,
Soaring high with longing desire,
And an offer of embrace to the sacred sky,
Where I see the expanding nothing,
Announcing an imminent death,
I also see the naked everything,
That's engulfed the earth,
Giving it another birth,
Where I see an end,
Drowsy eyes, tired souls,
And a receding day,
I also see a beginning,
Embryonic dreams,
And wide-awake lovers,
Inviting a night of passion and play,
Where I see the devil,
And an attempt of a wild take-over,
I also feel God,
Vespers from a distance,
My trembling lips,
And blooming on them,
Esoteric silent prayers...
